Sheet Metal Finishing

Metal Finishing

For many of our clients in sectors such as automotive and retail, the appearance of a component can be just as important as its function. That’s why they’re happy to work with us time and time again, because they understand that our full service, in house offer includes the kind of sheet metal finishing techniques needed to deliver the most aesthetically pleasing items.

It can sometimes be tempting, when welding, punching or pressing a piece of metal to strict designs and tolerances, to forget exactly what the finished item is going to look like. That’s never a temptation which we succumb to, however, because we know that the best sheet metal finishing techniques don’t merely make a component look the best it can, they often play a part in maximising operational efficiency.

Our engineers, across all departments, have got more than 300 years of experience under their collective belt, so they know that the best aluminium and stainless steel finishing can make all the difference between an item which is just good enough, and one which is truly excellent. As far as we’re concerned at Leenagte Engineering, truly excellent results are the only results which are ever going to be good enough.

Our sheet metal finishing services include grinding, cleaning and polishing of welded joints, and the fact that we work on everything from design to manufacture means that the item will have been put together with the optimum finishing techniques in mind. Alternatively, we can offer finishing as a stand-alone service, working on components which clients bring to us to transform them in our finishing work shop. With specialised services such as aluminium chromating, degreasing and shot blasting we provide can be utilised as separate services in their own right.

We have the facilities to provide pre-treatments which include a variety of chemical cleaning, pickling and conversion coating methods as well as abrasive blast cleaning, vapour degreasing and conversion treatments for aluminium. Put all of this together and add abrasive blast cleaning for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals and you have a sheet metal finishing service which is genuinely comprehensive in nature and capable of handling anything from small batches or even single components right up to large batches of several thousand components per day.
